Maggey Oplinger serves as the General Director and CEO of the Florentine Opera as of 2019. She leads the company’s operations, artistic programming, business planning, and community engagement initiatives, as well as overseeing the Baumgartner Studio Artist program. She previously worked as Director of Shared Experiences/Director of Community Partnerships for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. As a corporate innovation catalyst for Johnson Controls, Maggey devised customer experience efforts and led cross-functional innovation training, in addition to her role as a sales proposal lead and as a translator/bilingual writer. With both a B.M. and M.M. with honors in opera from McGill University, Maggey understands the beauty of Mozart’s tricky simplicity and the rush of a perfectly timed crescendo. She then got a graduate degree in nonprofit business administration at John Molson School of Business. Her broad experience translates to loving music, languages, literature, learning, and strategic innovation.
