Bring opera into your school with an exciting program based on a children's fairy tale. Opera Columbus on the Go! presents professional opera singers and students together on stage in an abridged version of Englebert Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel.
The featured opera will captivate and entertain students as they learn that good always triumphs in the end. Opera Columbus offers schools a one-hour, in-school student workshop on the day of the performance and helps up to 30 students perform as part of the chorus.
The program also provides comprehensive educational materials, a student activity pack, a rehearsal CD and a teacher's copy of the children's chorus music in advance.
SCHEDULING INFO: Performances run 45-50 minutes and require a tuned piano in the performance space.
FEE: $550 single performance; $800 double performance (back-to-back); $1,000 for two performances in the same day that are not back-to back.
