Polish-American soprano Alexandra Nowakowski is currently a Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist at the Washington National Opera where she sings Papagena and the Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute) in the 19/20 season. Important roles include Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos) with Wolf Trap Opera, Gilda (Rigoletto) with the Verbier Festival, and Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Pamina (The Magic Flute), Musetta (La boheme) all with the Academy of Vocal Arts. She has been a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Columbus Symphony, and the Bach Society Houston. Alexandra has been the 1st Prize winner of the Gerda Lissner Foundation Competition, the Violetta DuPont Competition, the Marcella Sembrich International Voice Competition, and the Vocal Arts DC Art Song Discovery Competition.
