American dramatic soprano Helena Brown was recently a Studio Artist at Sarasota Opera covering the roles of Madame Lidoine and Madame de Croissey in the Dialogues of the Carmelites. This past summer, she returned to the Glimmerglass Festival to sing Isabella in Francesca Zambello’s U.S. premiere of The Siege of Calais and cover Serena in Porgy and Bess. This season, Helena will premiere the role of Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni with Divaria Productions/Rioja Lirica and sing the role of Sieglinde in Die Walküre at the Miami Wagner Institute. Helena has received awards from competitions including the Deborah Voigt/Vero Beach International Opera Competition, Young Patronesses of the Opera/Florida Grand Opera, Opera Birmingham, Opera Ebony, Wagner Society of New York, Metropolitan Opera National Council, and MetroWest Opera.
