Mezzo-Soprano Kara Dugan has been praised by the New York Times for her “vocal warmth and rich character”. Recently, Ms. Dugan performed with New World Symphony performing selections from Ravel’s, L’enfant et les sortilèges and Chansons madécasses with Stéphane Denève conducting. Ms. Dugan also recently performed with Michael Tilson Thomas, premiering his work, Four Preludes on Playthings of the Wind, with the San Francisco Symphony, New World Symphony, and Philadelphia Orchestra. She was a soloist with Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in their Concert of Mozart’s Operatic Favorites singing as Cherubino from Le nozze di Figaro and Dorabella from Cosí fan tutte. Operatic highlights include Papagena in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, La Ciesca in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, and Zaida in Rossini’s Il Turco in Italia.
