Ayla Bella is a social activist currently attending Columbus Alternative High School. She utilizes the concept of activism-as-art, and creates through visual art, writing, oration, singing, and acting. In 2019, Ayla placed first in the state in her division of the Martin Luther King Jr. Oratorical competition with her speech The Difference is U. She also received first place in the state Laws of Life essay competition with her essay Looking Into the Eyes of Humanity. Because of her passion for activism, she has organized Shanti Cafe, a pop-up coffee and tea shop with a mission of supporting activist youth.
