Celina, Ohio native Emily Spencer has brought her “luscious mezzo-soprano” (Boston Musical Intelligencer) to the operatic stages of the Castleton Festival, Chautauqua Opera, Opera Saratoga, Palm Beach Opera, and Indianapolis Opera, and in 2018 she won the emerging artist division of the second annual Opera MODO Detroit Aria Competition. Emily makes her Opera Columbus debut singing Zita in Gianni Schicchi and will return in 2020 as Berta in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Emily holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in voice from Northwestern University, as well as a post-graduate certificate from the Boston University Opera Institute.
