Opera Columbus debut: Grace Laubacher is a New York City-based scenic designer. Upcoming and recent opera credits include: La Bohème (Santa Fe Opera); Glory Denied and Enemies, A Love Story (Kentucky Opera); Riders to the Sea/Empty the House (Curtis Institute/Opera Philadelphia); Dido and Aeneas (Juilliard/Versailles); La Finta Giardiniera and The Magic Flute (Juilliard); Halka and Le Villi/La Navarraise (Bard Music Festival); Giulio Cesare (Boston Baroque); and Aida (Pacific Symphony). Grace was a winner (along with Mary Birnbaum and Anshuman Bhatia) in the 2015 Opera America/Robert L.B. Tobin Director-Designer showcase, and has been named a “Young Designer to Watch” by Live Design Magazine.
