Jeff MacMullen (Prince Yamadori) baritone, is thrilled to return to Opera Columbus for this production of Madama Butterfly. Past appearances with Opera Columbus include the role of Schaunard in La Boheme, Artemidor in Armide, Prince Yamadori in Madama Butterfly, as well as Silvio in Pagliacci and Marcello in La Boheme, both as a part of the Opera on the Edge series. Other recent appearances include the role of Talpa in Il Tabarro, and Samuel in Un ballo in maschera, both with Mid Ohio Opera, as well as Marco in Gianni Schicchi with Opera Project Columbus. Mr. MacMullen will return to Mid Ohio Opera in June of 2019 as Guglielmo in Così fan tutte. A performer of both opera and musical theatre, Mr. MacMullen has appeared in leading and supporting roles with companies such as Michigan Opera Theatre, Ohio Light Opera, Light Opera Works Chicago, and Casa Mañana Theatre. In the orchestral arena, he has appeared with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, the Lansing Symphony, the Jackson Symphony, The Ohio State Symphony Orchestra, and the Michigan State University Symphony and Chamber orchestras. Mr. MacMullen has received both his Bachelor and Master degrees in Vocal Performance from Michigan State University.
